Welcome Back!

Students in Room 6 had a very productive week of learning. The high level of engagement proved that they were eager to be back in the classroom!

We started to explore temperature, animal adaptations, and the Northern communities of Canada. By engaging in listening and viewing experiences, students learned how various animals have special features that help them survive the cold temperatures. We practiced taking notes of key ideas through words and pictures, as well as asking questions to further our learning. We will continue this work next week.

This week we began a new math thinking routine called "Which One Doesn't Belong". WODB requires students to share their mathematical thinking. There is not one right answer, and you must find at least one reason why which one doesn't belong. Students share their reasoning using mathematical vocabulary! After students problem solve independently, we often come together as a class to have a math discussion sharing our ideas and strategies. Below is our collaborative answers for this weeks' WODB.

Please be sure to have your child log in to Google Classroom at home. There are links to different learning videos posted, dance mat typing practice, and such!

Have a nice weekend!
