 Hello families,

Halloween

Lake Bonavista School will be having some happy Halloween fun on Friday, October 29th. Students are invited to wear their costume or black & orange on this day. In addition to the curricular tasks, we will be having a
cohort parade with Room 6, 7, and 8 who we play with in our outdoor zone.

Please remember...
- no face masks (except our daily cloth or disposable masks)
- no weapons
- students will wear their costume to school
- it should be comfortable to sit in and participate in activities for the entire day
- costumes are meant to be fun!!

**There will be no treats handed out to friends, instead students are invited to bring in their own special treat that we can eat later on in the morning.**

Masks

We have been handing out a lot of “emergency masks”. Please pack an extra mask or two in your child’s backpack.

Learning Update

Room 5 students have been engaged in looking closely at new artifacts from two new habitats. Acting as a scientist, students observe closely to determine, "how do these artifacts connect to wildlife and wild places?" They have been learning through examples and non-examples what to include and not include in their sketches and labels. A lot of learning has taken place when looking at both examples and non-examples to co-create task success criteria. Students have also begun to give one another feedback based on success criteria. Our next step will be to implement feedback.

MOVE-EMBER CHALLENGE

November is movement month at LBS! We are encouraging students to be active throughout the winter with a movement challenge for move-ember :).

Students are encouraged to keep track of their movement minutes outside of school time from November 1-30. The class that earns the most movement minutes at the end of the month will earn a special reward! Please support your child in tracking their movement minutes either on Google Classroom or hardcopy (this will be specified by your child's teacher).

Let’s encourage each other to be active and healthy! See the video for more information about our at school and at home challenges for the month.
